Raphiolepis delacourii is a new variety bred in France in 1896, not far from Cannes. It is a cross between R.indica, also known as Indian hawthorn, which originated in southern China, and R.umbellata, which originated in Japan and Korea. The ‘Springtime’ variety is an American selection with a compact habit and candy-pink flowers. This shrub has a naturally regular, rounded habit.
